TECHNOLOGY x PROVENANCE

In 2023 I developed a prototype scanning solution that can accurately verify the authenticity of a previously scanned artwork. By scanning the artwork after its provenance has been verified, a digital fingerprint of the artwork can stored via the Notary. This is anonymous so that the privacy of the owner of the artwork is protected. At any later stage using the scanner, the authenticity of the artwork can be verified by rescanning the artwork. This works on both 2D (paintings) and 3D objects.

The project was done for a client and uses several sensors, cameras and novel computer vision algorithms. The project is now awaiting funding status before a full hand-held scanning device will be brought to market.
